Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Treatment

Overview

Endometriosis and Adenomyosis are complex gynaecological conditions affecting countless women worldwide, characterized by tissue similar to the endometrium growing outside the uterus and within the uterine wall, respectively. We offer an integrated approach to their treatment, prioritising the overall well-being of the patient.

Firstly, for those experiencing mild symptoms or aiming for pregnancy, medical management is often recommended. Hormonal treatments, such as birth control pills, GnRH agonists, and progestins, can regulate menstrual cycles and reduce pain. However, their efficacy may vary and some might not be suitable for those trying to conceive.

When medication isn’t effective or for those with severe symptoms, surgical interventions become an option. Laparoscopy, a minimally invasive procedure, allows our skilled surgeons to diagnose and remove endometriotic lesions. For adenomyosis, a definitive treatment is a hysterectomy, removing the uterus, but this is considered when other treatments fail and if the patient doesn’t wish to bear children in the future.

At Srinivasa Hospital, we believe in holistic care. We offer pain management options and physical therapy tailored to enhance pelvic health. Counselling services are also available, recognising the emotional toll these conditions can exert.

Above all, our focus is patient-centric care, working closely with each individual to determine the best treatment plan and ensuring they are informed and comfortable every step of the way.
