Overview

Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. Cholecystectomy is a common treatment for symptomatic gallstones and other gallbladder conditions. Performed by general surgeons, this procedure can be done via minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery or open surgery, both under general anaesthesia. Laparoscopic surgery is preferred for its quicker recovery and reduced scarring. Postoperative care includes pain management, monitoring for complications and dietary adjustments.
