Laparoscopy

Overview

Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows doctors to examine the abdominal cavity without a large incision. This technique has revolutionised numerous surgical fields, offering benefits like reduced pain, faster recovery, and minimal scarring.

We conduct laparoscopy in a sterile operating room. A patient undergoing laparoscopy receives anaesthesia, ensuring they are pain-free during the procedure. Our experienced surgeon makes small incisions in the abdomen, through which a laparoscope – a long, thin instrument with a high-intensity light and high-resolution camera at the front – is inserted. This device transmits images of the internal organs onto a screen, providing a clear, magnified view.

The real-time imagery assists surgeons in navigating surgical instruments, allowing them to undertake precise operations within the abdominal cavity, ranging from organ biopsy to complex procedures like hysterectomy or tumour removal. Because the incisions are small, patients usually experience fewer complications and a quicker recovery period compared to traditional open surgery.

Post-procedure, patients benefit from the minimal downtime and can often leave the hospital the same day, resuming their regular activities within a short period. Laparoscopy has become the preferred method for many surgeries due to its proven safety and effectiveness.

We ensure safety and precision by using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques. Srinivasa Hospital continually invests in training their staff to be adept in laparoscopic methods, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. Post-procedure, we provide detailed instructions and follow-up care, ensuring the patient’s well-being.
