Renal biopsy is a medical procedure in which a small tissue sample from the kidney is removed for examination. Microscopic examination of the tissue helps to diagnose diseases like glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome and unexplained kidney dysfunction. The procedure involves local anaesthesia and is usually done on an outpatient basis. Mild pain or discomfort is typical but usually manageable with pain relief medications. Post-procedure and diagnosis, tailored treatment plans are provided to improve kidney health.
